SNCFD hosted Inaugural Mobile Food Pantry Pop-Up Distribution

The Stork's Nest Charity Funds of Dallas in conjunction with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated hosted a Mobile Food Pantry Pop-Up Distribution at Viola's House, an emergency placement shelter for teen mothers faced with an unplanned pregnancy who may also be at-risk for homelessness, in South Dallas on September14, 2019.
The Food Pantry Pop-Up successfully distributed over 30 bags of food which included healthy nutritious canned options and fresh fruit along with restocking the pantry shelves at Viola's House.  The Food Pantry Pop-up was also able to share food items with Cornerstone Baptist Church's Food Kitchen & Pantry and Christian Chapel C.M.E.  Volunteers included members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority - Kappa Zeta Chapter and representatives from the South Dallas community.
The Dallas Stork's Nest also held a successful kickoff to its Stork's Nest Education Program at Viola's House. Stork's Nest aims to increase the number of women receiving early and regular prenatal care to prevent cases of low birth-weight, premature births and infant deaths. During the 2019 kickoff, five young mothers were helped through the program's pre/postnatal care class.
