What We Do
SNCFD is an organization through which community outreach endeavors are made. More specifically we are involved in the granting of scholarships, the development of youth enrichment projects and the carrying out of community volunteerism efforts. These volunteer efforts not only offer services to the local communities in the Dallas Ft. Worth area but also assist other not-for-profit organizations with reaching their goals to improve and empower our communities.
Through the Project H.E.R. initiative, SNCFD sponsors several programs including: 1) Stork’s Nest Education Program – an education program for low-income pregnant women which focuses on pre-natal care in an effort to prevent low birth-weight, premature births and infant deaths; 2) Stork’s Nest - an incentive based program which distributes infant/child clothing, items and supplies to participants who successfully complete SNEP; 3) Blue Revue - a comprehensive 9-month long Mentoring and Scholarship Program for female high school juniors and seniors that provides mentorship opportunities and educational enrichment workshops with activities designed to motivate, engage and assist the participants in reaching their maximum potential culminating in a presentation program that spotlights the accomplishments of the participants and awards scholarships to further their academic endeavors.
The Stork's Nest Charity Fund of Dallas (SNCFD) is a 501(c)3 tax exempt non-profit organization established in November 1991 as the charitable arm of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Kappa Zeta Chapter.
How We Serve
SNCFD has a 30-year history in providing services to the community through its programs. Through these programs we have donated countless hours of volunteer service, donated thousands of dollars in infant/child clothing and toiletries, awarded over $150,000 in scholarships to area youth and college matriculating students and impacted the lives of hundreds of young girls through our mentoring activities where we served as role models and encouraged positive behavior. We provide activities that promote self-esteem and sponsor community service projects that address the needs of senior citizens, victims of domestic violence and the homeless.
Due to recent COVID challenges, we have had to change many of our programs to virtual events or drop and go donation events where we collect and put together care packages of supplies and drop off the packages to community agencies in need. During the 2020-2021 year, we donated over $18,000 in monetary contributions and in-kind items/supplies to area agencies, $20,000 in scholarships to students pursing higher education, served over 3700 volunteer hours and assisted over 1800 individuals and families in the Dallas local area.

Who we serve
SNCFD's service population includes low-income pregnant women, girls, babies and families. We provide information, activities and resources that foster healthy attitudes and behaviors among women and at-risk girls. Through our Stork’s Nest services and programs, we improve the chances of survival for infants who are delivered by adolescent and indigent mothers and as a result we are able to see a decline in the number of at-risk women who fail to seek early and regular care thus positively impacting pregnancy outcomes thereby improving the quality of life for babies and their families.
The motto of our Blue Revue Program is to “Impact a Young Lady for Life”. The mentoring program does that by planning and implementing activities, workshops and events that foster academic enrichment and life skills training to support the journey to college or vocational employment and focus on achievement, self-awareness, communication, engagement, networking and developmental skills in an effort to prepare today’s youth for an increasingly global and complex society along with expanding their awareness of health, social and economic concerns.
SNCFD does not and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation or military status, in any of our activities or operations.
Where We Serve
SNCFD serves primarily in the DFW area counties and communities. Through our programs, we serve through volunteer efforts, outreach services and awarding scholarships. We serve with local community partners who are involved in the services of Health, Education and Resources (H.E.R.) and support community-based projects that educate on health issues (prevention and intervention), improving their economic stability, closing equity gaps in education, health services and health education and who positively impact individuals and families in our community.
Why we serve
SNCFD is a change agent in our community as we strive to increase the awareness of the impact of premature birth and provide information on how prenatal care can help reduce the rate of premature birth in our community; as we strive to decrease teen pregnancies and substance abuse among youth through mentoring activities for girls and assist parents in guiding the young girls to become persons who avoid habits that lead to unwed pregnancies and who contribute to their communities; and as we strive to improve the quality of life for women, infants and children by insuring they have the adequate access to health care and health education resources.
